Hi, I'm Gracie.
Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, my journey into UX started unconventionally when I took my first anthropology class in high school. I was so fascinated in wanting to understand how humans interact with their world and the factors that influence culture and decisions. A life-long story lover, I am captivated by folklore and what stories we choose to tell tell about us. Flash forward through a divergence into a biology major and ultimately dropping out of college to try my hand at frontend coding through the Epicodus coding bootcamp, I got my first job in tech at a small startup where I was introduced to an amazing senior UX designer. I didn't know what UX really was but I knew that it was what I wanted to do. Job by job I built myself a career in a field I love. Eight years later as I look back and realize I was always meant to be here: I am still fascinated with people and the stories they choose to tell. At my root, I want to help people move their stories forward, create their myths, and understand why.
Outside of work you can find me with dirty hands in the garden, my local community ceramics studio, or with my bees.
